Beginner Running

Registration for 2024 Beginner Running 101 opens August 20th at 8:00 AM!

Are you having a hard time getting motivated to start running, or do you lack consistency? Don’t know where to begin? Don’t want to do it alone? 

If you are nodding your head yes, then this class is for you! This is truly a beginner’s class so don’t be intimidated. 

Join Miranda, Spring, and Kelsi for a fun 7-week training program that will start with running/walking intervals and gradually work up to completing the Skeleton Skedaddle 5K and, if you’re up for the challenge, the Turkey Day 8K!

Pace doesn’t matter – all you need is the willingness to take the first step. Your goal will be to complete the 5K (3.1 miles) in the Beginner Running 101 class, and the 8K (4.96 miles) in the Beginner Running 102 class, and our goal will be to inspire you to keep on going long after this training class is finished.

There are two sequential sessions of Beginner Running:

Beginner Running 101:

Class begins Wednesday, September 11th at 6:00 PM and continues through the Skeleton Skedaddle on Sunday, October 27th. We will meet weekly, on Saturdays at 8:30 AM and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM. Location will be communicated by class leaders.

Beginner Running 102:

For those who want to keep the momentum going! Class begins Wednesday, October 30 at the Run Wild Missoula Beer Run and continues through Thursday, November 28 at the Turkey Day 8K. We will meet weekly, on Saturdays at 8:30 AM and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM. Location will be communicated by class leaders. Registration for Beginner Running 102 opens on Monday, October 14 at 8:00 AM!
